>  Ganzdex: Cresser's Brush Store, Edinburgh  launch feature
On a recent trip to Edinburgh, on a winding street which was likely last paved during the reign of King James I, I discovered a store which purports to be the only shop in the world dedicated solely to peddling brushes and balls of string. Although it is identified as a historic site in specialty guidebooks and historic registries, The Brush Store is outwardly unassuming, marked only by the tall brooms and other brushes with unlikely uses arranged rhythmically outside. The shop's interior has retained its dusty, pared down armature, with simple shelving revealing rows of every kind of brush imaginable, crammed and layered at right angles. Bolts of string hang from the ceiling and nestle in drawers. Cresser's Brush Store is an homage to curios, a study in specificity. -text by Amy Claire Gray, photos by Peter Buchanan-Smith No plugins required.
